A young man waits his turn to enter the central cemetery in Bogota just as a priest walks out of the gate. This cemetery is notorious as the final resting place for young men who are killed by violence in and around the Colombian capital. To me, the cemetery represents the stark contrast in Bogotá and other parts of Latin America, serving as a visual reminder of the class and power system we all live under.
Un joven espera su turno para ingresar al cementerio central de Bogotá, mientras un sacerdote sale por la puerta. Este cementerio es conocido como el lugar de descanso de los jóvenes que son asesinados, debido a la violencia en la capital colombiana y sus alrededores. Ésto representa para mí el marcado contraste en Bogotá y en otras partes de América Latina y juega como un recordatorio visual, de la clase y el sistema de poder bajo el que todos vivimos.
